I advise clients on all aspects of family law, with particular emphasis on the financial consequences of relationship breakdown, including complex cases where there are substantial assets, trusts, pensions and family businesses.
I qualified as a solicitor in 1981 and worked in central London, the West Country and Cambridge before moving to Surrey in 2010 when I set up my own firm, Hendersons. I joined Moore Barlow LLP (formerly Barlow Robbins LLP) in March 2019.
Many family law clients are going through an extremely difficult and emotional time and I work sensitively with each client with a view to reaching a constructive and fair long term solution by agreement wherever possible. I trained in collaborative law in 2005 and have conducted many cases in this way, where appropriate. I also have significant experience of taking clients through the family law arbitration process and I acted for one of the parties in the leading case of S v S EWHC 7 (Fam). I qualified as a mediator in 2012.
I am experienced in taking cases through the court system as well but, as a member of Resolution, I am very committed to trying to reduce hostility and confrontation as much as possible and believe that court proceedings should be used only as a last resort.
