Our people
Meet our expert lawyers who are dedicated to making life better for our clients.

About Deborah
I am a Senior associate solicitor specialising in medical negligence claims. Throughout my legal career, I have acted for claimants who have suffered avoidable injury as a result of delayed or late diagnoses, and treatment and surgical errors in a wide range of medical conditions. I have also acted for bereaved families where negligence has caused the death of a loved one, helping them through the inquest process as well as their compensation claim. I have a particular interest in women’s health and gynaecological claims and have also worked alongside several partners pursuing obstetric claims arising out of children born with cerebral palsy.
Originally a science graduate, I am a second career lawyer, having previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry. In 2005, I joined in a secretarial role in the medical negligence department, whilst completing my law degree and masters in medical law through the University of Northumbria. I was then offered a training contract and went on to qualify in 2009. I formally retired in 2023 but continue to work for Moore Barlow as a Consultant, running a small number of cases and assisting other lawyers as required.
I am passionate about helping my clients and their families through what is often the most difficult time of their lives. Many of my clients’ injuries are life changing and compensation can provide them with the care and therapies they need to start putting their lives back together. I do my best to support them and their families through what is a complex area of litigation, lessening the burden as much as I possibly can.
Outside of work, my husband and I regularly visit France, where we are slowly learning the language and we recently bought a campervan, so plan to explore our beautiful country at home as well.
