About Daniel
I am a Senior associate solicitor. I specialise in commercial dispute resolution and sports law. I am the founder and co-head of our sports law sector group and I am proud to be ranked as a “Leading Associate” in sport by the Legal 500, an external legal directory which benchmarks excellence in legal services.
I am experienced in advising on a wide range of commercial dispute resolution cases, including and involving commercial contractual disputes, contested debt recovery, corporate shareholder/director disputes and insolvency proceedings.
As co-founder and co-head of our sports law group I am experienced in handling all types of sports litigation matters, including those involving major sporting governing bodies and in respect of disciplinary proceedings. I have represented elite-level coaches, athletes and high-profile clubs and organisations in the sports sector. I offer ad-hoc advisory assistance to our sports sector clients in respect of all matters relating to dispute resolution / avoidance and compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
In addition to handling cases before specialist sports tribunal and panels, my experience extends to high-value and complex litigation before the High Court in addition to handling claims before the County Court. I enjoy working closely with individuals and businesses to provide clear, strategic and commercial advice in relation to challenging contentious issues. I am conscious of the occasionally daunting and business-critical nature of disputes for some clients, therefore my priority is to ensure that disputes are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible, including through the use of alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation.

Recent highlights
- Acting for and advising several individual clients in relation to disciplinary and safeguarding proceedings involving multiple sporting governing bodies, including the FA and British Gymnastics.
- Representing a client in disciplinary and safeguarding proceedings (and in subsequent appeal proceedings) held pursuant to the Independent Complaints Process established by British Gymnastics.
- Ongoing support and advice to a polo player and in relation to regulatory matters connected to membership status with the applicable sporting governing body.
- Acting for a leading haulage and land restoration company handling various sets of commercial proceedings, including at trial and in relation to claims for breach of contract and breach of duty.
