About Mala
I am a Partner and qualified medical doctor, specialising in helping clients who have suffered illness and injury as a result of substandard medical care.
The clients I work for are individuals who have experienced injury due to medical negligence and many of the claims have left the client with a permanent disability.
I have a particular interest in helping clients with neurological and birth injury claims. I also regularly work on cases involving delay in treating and diagnosing infectious diseases, inadequate consent for surgery and delay in diagnosing hearing loss.
I have a successful track record of recovering substantial amounts of compensation on my clients’ behalf. Recent settlements include a multi-million pound settlement in a wrongful birth claim, £1m for a client with delay in diagnosis and treatment of herpes simplex encephalitis and £700,000 for a client who developed cauda equina syndrome following spinal surgery.
I joined Moore Blatch in 2015 (now Moore Barlow, May 2020). Previously, I worked in medical negligence for a London law firm for more than 10 years.
Before training as a solicitor, I worked as a practising anaesthetist.
I am regularly invited to speak to medical and legal students at events to discuss issues that affect their professions.
