About Aliesha
Prior to my recent qualification as a Solicitor, I was a Paralegal within the Court of protection and I now have 4 years of experience within this area. For my first two years, I worked closely with lay deputies that managed the property and affairs of P. Most of this work centred around elderly clients, ensuring that care needs and therapies were satisfied from a financial aspect and assisting deputies in the sale of commercial property.
During this time I was also involved in some CHC funding challenges and successful applications to appoint professional health and welfare deputies.
In the most recent years there has been a focus on representing professional deputies where P has a substantial personal injury or clinical negligence award. I work closely with litigation lawyers, case managers, architects, and Counsel. I deal regularly with matters of a cross-jurisdictional nature, particularly involving America, Portugal and Poland.
I initially took the traditional route in becoming a solicitor which is completing a qualifying Law degree. Whilst completing my law degree, I gained a CILEX level 6 qualification.
When I reached the LPC stage, I also completed the LLM which had a focus on personal injury. I then entered the working world and started as a paralegal within a Court of protection team. It was from then I realised my love for this area of law, and instead of wanting to complete a training contract, I chose to change my route to qualification to the SQE. Though it meant more exams, it also meant that I was able to hone my skills in Court of protection matters.
I am an avid walker and take my three-year-old daughter for a walk daily.
On weekends I am often baking or gardening.
