About Sarah

A trusted legal adviser to the rural sector,  my client base is focused on acting for families of landed estates, farms, landowners, equestrian businesses and lifestyle clients looking to set up home and connections in the country from a city base.

I head up the Rural Services team at Moore Barlow and we are able to provide a full legal service to the rural sector, often by me helping project manage the legal needs of a client and bringing in our wider rural sector team members where appropriate. This includes working very closely with other rural professional advisers for our clients including their accountant, agent and banker.

I am also a rural property lawyer by background and run the Rural Property team. We specialise in land, farm and country transactions, as well as rural asset management for Landed Estates and secured agricultural lending work. We cover landlord and tenant matters, business leases and are experienced at advising on agricultural tenancies: AHA and FBT.

Current trends sees the team advising private landowners and corporates in relation to transactions and joint ventures for the offset of corporate carbon emissions; woodland and forestry transactions; renewable energy projects and CPO advice and support to private landowners for various national and localised schemes.

Individually listed by Chambers since 2014 as a leading individual in the Agriculture and Estates sector and a recent source praised my team for its “speedy response, attention to detail and thorough understanding of our subject.”

Outside of work you will find me out and about in the sector I work for and very much enjoy an outdoor lifestyle when not at my desk.
