Heywood Mill house
A timeless country home in the heart of the New Forest. Originally the village bakery with a coach house dating back to 1850, Heywood Mill blends heritage and charm across three acres of gently rolling grounds. Its elevated position offers uninterrupted southerly views of Boldre Church, framed by nature.
Located off a quiet country lane in the sought-after parish of Boldre, beyond Sandy Down, this character home is widely regarded as one of the prettiest in the New Forest, combining rural serenity with architectural distinction.
Owned by the same family for over 60 years, it was sympathetically refurbished in 1994, including a vaulted barn dining hall and a self-contained annexe ideal for guests or multi-generational living.
Thoughtfully landscaped gardens enhance the setting and connect the home to its natural surroundings. Heywood Mill is more than a residence – it’s a legacy of craftsmanship, care, and character.
I was recommended Mike Wilson at Moore Barlow by Spencers to firstly purchase my new property, and secondly deal with the sale of my property. As everyone knows, this is a stressful and emotional process. However, Mike was always at the end of the phone and nothing was too much trouble. I like the policy of looking at the big picture, and both the sale and purchase went as smoothly as can be expected. I was very impressed with his services. I really couldn’t recommend Mike and his team highly enough.

Low Wood
Low Wood was a beautiful period home set on one of the area’s most sought-after roads, surrounded by around two and a half acres of landscaped gardens and mature grounds. From the moment you arrived, the sense of quality was clear, with a handcrafted electric gate opening onto a sweeping gravel driveway that led to the main house and a separate triple garage.
The property included a self-contained annexe, an outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court, offering both space and privacy for family living and entertaining. Inside, the house combined classic character with modern comfort, blending original features with thoughtful updates.
Over the years, the previous owners had invested in extending and refurbishing the property with great care, creating a home that felt both elegant and welcoming, and offering a rare balance of period charm and contemporary style.
We sold our much-loved home of 28 years last year. Having previously used Lucy’s expertise for a couple of small investment sales, we had no hesitation in instructing her on the sale of this larger property. The sale was completed in an extremely professional manner. All questions were dealt with promptly, and we would happily recommend Lucy to others looking for a conveyancer.

Strelna House
An award-winning country estate combining timeless elegance with modern luxury. Set within over an acre of beautifully landscaped gardens, the distinguished Strelna and Strelna Coach House blended 19th-century charm with contemporary refinement. Believed to date back to the 1800s, the estate offered a rare mix of heritage and sophistication.
Comprising two exceptional residences, the principal Strelna House and the adjacent Coach House, the estate had been meticulously renovated to preserve its original features while introducing modern comfort and style.
Expansive lawns, terraces, and outbuildings created a serene and private setting for outdoor living. Strelna captured the essence of refined countryside living—an estate of enduring quality and quiet luxury.
We recently engaged the services of Moore Barlow for the sale of our property and the purchase of a new one. Our sale was not a typical one, as it involved two properties on the same site, and the property we were buying was going through probate. Both the sale and purchase proceeded to exchange very quickly and without any issues. Clare, who led the conveyancing, kept us informed throughout the process. We have used this firm on at least nine other occasions. We would certainly recommend Moore Barlow to anyone considering selling or purchasing a property.

Weavers
Heritage, elegance, and refined living in one of Surrey’s most prestigious private estates. Set within 0.66 acres of landscaped gardens, Weavers offered a peaceful setting with an outdoor swimming pool, detached double garage, and a secondary entrance for added privacy.
Spanning three storeys, the home combined grandeur and warmth, with vaulted ceilings, galleried landings, exposed beams, and character fireplaces complemented by contemporary finishes.
Designed for both entertaining and everyday living, it featured generous reception rooms, a bespoke study, and spacious kitchen and breakfast areas.
Every detail of Weavers reflected calm, character, and quiet luxury—blending timeless architecture with modern sophistication.
Working with the solicitors and team at Moore Barlow, who handled the conveyancing for our recent house sale, could not have been easier or more efficient. Everything went smoothly, and it was reassuring to be able to rely on their sound expertise and advice.
They were very supportive and helpful with important points of detail. I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for a solicitor to handle their conveyancing.

Ashdown Forest
The Old Rectory
Originally a Georgian rectory demolished around 1970, The Old Rectory was rebuilt to exacting standards as a tribute to the original. The new design blended styles: Georgian sash windows gave the house symmetry, while four large Victorian-style bays framed each end.
Inside, the ground floor offered generous rooms filled with light and high ceilings. The grand entrance hall and double staircase created an impressive welcome. Residents enjoyed extensive facilities, including indoor and outdoor pools, games rooms, a squash court, and a tennis court.
Set on the edge of Ashdown Forest, the house enjoyed sweeping views across the South Downs. The grounds were beautifully maintained, featuring two ponds feeding into a lake, a walled garden with flowerbeds and paths, a small copse, a three-hole golf course, and parkland extending to about 27 acres.
