Moore Barlow advises on sale of Sludge Tek

Moore Barlow’s corporate law team has played a pivotal role in the successful sale of Sludge Tek, a specialist waste management company, marking a significant milestone for founder Peter Cramp.

Established in 2001, Sludge Tek has grown into a trusted provider of environmental and waste processing solutions, designing and building their products in-house to ensure ease of maintenance and deployment for their clients across the UK. The company is known for its innovative approach to sludge treatment, recycling, and sustainable waste disposal, covering a wide range of industries including wastewater treatment, oil refineries, pharmaceutical manufacturing and construction

The transaction, led by Moore Barlow partner Jeremy Over, sees Sludge Tek acquired by Marlow PLC, a strategic buyer specialising in fire safety & security and water & air hygiene, committed to expanding its footprint in the environmental services sector. Marlow PLC serves approximately 27,000 customers across manufacturing plants, local authorities, multi-site NHS trusts, FTSE 100 companies and thousands of SMEs. The deal ensures continuity for Sludge Tek’s operations and its dedicated team, while opening new avenues for growth and investment.

Moore Barlow was instrumental in guiding us through this complex process. Their expertise and support gave me confidence every step of the way. I’m proud of what we’ve built at Sludge Tek and excited to see the company thrive in its next chapter.
