Roadpeace World Day of Remembrance

On Sunday 17th of November Roadpeace, the national charity for road crash victims, together with their members, their supporters, and other bereaved families will be coming together for the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

We are proud to be a part of the RoadPeace World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims and to show our support for those who have lost their lives or been injured due to a road collision.

This year there are four services in the South of England marking the World Day of Remembrance.

Westham, near Eastbourne

15:00 pm at St Mary’s Church – Westham 84 High St, Westham, Pevensy, Sussex

At this service, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Sussex will be in attendance alongside representatives from the emergency services. If you are unable to attend the service you can still email with details of the name and age  of your loved one to request a dedication which will be read out as part of the service.  Refreshments will be available afterwards.

Ramsgate

10:00 am at St Laurence-in-Thanet Church – High Street St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent

The congregation at St Laurence-in-Thanet Church, Ramsgate, will be including prayers for World Day of Remembrance in the prayers of intercession during their Sunday service. All are welcome. 

Southampton

10:00 am at Peace Fountain in Andrews Park – Southampton, SO14 7DW

The Southampton Cycling Campaign will mark World Day of Remembrance with a service before their Sunday ride. The group will hold placards with the RoadPeace dove, and remember in silence all road crash victims around the world, with a special focus on vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians.  After the silence attendees are invited to say the names of anyone known to them who has died in a road collision whom they would like to remember, and cyclists killed on Southampton’s roads will be named.

London

14:30 pm at St James’ Piccadilly – 197 Piccadilly, London. W1J 9LL

Those who don’t have a service local to them are welcome in London to join the Roadpeace service to remember the many millions killed and injured on the world’s roads, together with their families, friends and the many others who are also affected. This is also an opportunity to thank the emergency services, medical professionals and others who deal daily with the traumatic aftermath of road death and injury. Please RSVP to: info@roadpeace.org.
