About Nicholas

I specialise in community care and mental capacity matters. I advise clients on all aspects of community care and best interest decisions.

I act for a variety of clients in securing the right package of care for people who, without assistance, struggle with daily living. Many will be looking to challenge cuts to personal budgets made by local authorities or variations to care and support plans that reduce the level of care they receive.

Other clients are looking to challenge non-eligibility decisions made by the NHS in the application of continuing healthcare funding. I advise, assist and represent clients throughout this process and act for families applying for this funding for the first time.

I also represent clients who lack capacity to make decisions for themselves. In many cases, vital health and welfare decisions have to be made and I will be instructed to act for family members in best interest meetings or at the court of protection.

In all cases, I ensure that my clients’ voices are heard whilst providing clear advice and guidance surrounding this complex and often misunderstood area of law.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two young daughters who keep me on my toes! I have a passion for all things film and host a semi-regular podcast on computer games.
