Moore Barlow has been buoyed by a solid year, according to its managing partner, who also spoke to Insider about its recruitment activity during the year and its plans to accelerate growth in 2024.
The company works with clients including businesses, organisations, individuals and families, both regionally and nationally, for personal, business and injury-related issues.
It has six offices in Guilford, London, Lymington, Richmond, Southampton and Woking.
Speaking to Insider, managing partner Ed Whittington said:
2023 has been a solid year following what could have been a challenging one, starting with soaring inflation and interest rates. We are fortunate to have a portfolio of businesses, many of which are counter cyclical and provide resilience when transactional activity dips, as it has done this year.
I’m proud to say that we have built on our reputation as the first port of call for people looking to work with a regional law firm that rivals the skills, experience and service of any City firm. This year was all about getting back out there and our people have well and truly been networking and spreading the Moore Barlow message.
Moore Barlow made several hires and promotions during the year.
Whittington said: “Our management and people believe that the firm has a strong future provided by the opportunities in London, Surrey and Hampshire, in both the private wealth and business sectors.
“A testament to this is our new office which opened in Richmond in 2023.”
Looking ahead, he added: “For 2024 we want to build on 2023’s solid performance and accelerating growth. Of course, this will come with challenges, but our people are on board and committed to achieving this.
“We’re also putting in a new IT system which we will deliver in 2024 and will be a fantastic addition to the firm.”
