Moore Blatch support the sale of Hamble River Deacons Boatyard to Dean & Reddyhoff

South coast marina operator, Dean & Reddyhoff Ltd, has announced the purchase of Solent based Deacons Boatyard and Marina from Guernsey based marine property investment and development company Fuller Group. Moore Blatch solicitors supported the sale and provided legal advice to Fuller Group.

With 130 marina berths and a full-service boat yard for 150 boats ashore on the river Hamble, Deacons complements the existing Dean & Reddyhoff marina network which has 1500 berths at Haslar, East Cowes, Portland and Weymouth marinas.

Deacons already offers services to Dean & Reddyhoff berth holders, and from April its annual berth holders will also receive the same benefits as all other Dean & Reddyhoff berth holders. These include 21 free overnight visits to group marinas, marina restaurant discounts and free Southampton Boat Show tickets.

Dean & Reddyhoff, managing director, Michael Prideaux, comments: “Under the ownership of the Fuller Group, Deacons Boatyard and Marina has thrived and is one of the premier marinas on the Solent. Under our ownership we will continue to develop the facilities and build on the respected reputation and heritage that the Deacons marina has.

Alex Fuller, managing director, Fuller Group, “We have owned Deacons Boatyard and Marina since the early 1960s and have invested heavily and helped create one of the areas most loved marina complexes. We are now very pleased to facilitate the next stage of its development under the ownership of the Dean & Reddyhoff group. Importantly, I would also like to thank our customers, staff and on-site tenants and wish them well for the future. I would also like to thank the team at Moore Blatch for their excellent advice and ensuring a smooth sale.”

Jeremy Over, partner, Moore Blatch, comments: “The Solent is internationally renowned for its maritime history and leisure activities, so it gave us great pleasure working with two of the longest established providers of boatyard and marina facilities in Dorset and Hampshire.”
