Partner hire bolsters Moore Barlow commercial and technology team

Southeast-based law firm Moore Barlow has announced the appointment of Belinda Walters as a partner in its commercial and technology team.

Belinda has joined Moore Barlow from Newbury-headquartered Gardner Leader Solicitors and brings more than 25 years’ experience to the team. As a commercial lawyer, she specialises in delivering advice on wide ranging commercial matters, such as commercial contracts, intellectual property, IT, and on data protection and privacy.

She is a trusted advisor to her clients, many of whom she has longstanding relationships with, and is appreciated for providing pragmatic advice that supports their business objectives. Her experience includes advising those providing B2B services in relation to their commercial offerings to their customers, as well as the contracts for services and infrastructure needed for day-to-day business operations. Belinda’s focus on providing focused commercial advice to clients was honed from her previous experience working in-house at Sky, working with the C-suite and colleagues across the wider business to achieve the company’s aims.

The commercial and technology team at Moore Barlow advises business owners on a broad range of legal and regulatory requirements to develop their business and protect their organisations from legal and commercial risks. This includes helping clients to negotiate contracts, protect and commercialise their intellectual property rights, procure goods and services, and complete franchising and outsourcing agreements.

Belinda joins the five-strong commercial and technology team and will be based in Southampton, reinforcing the firm’s expertise in this area, which is recognised by the leading directories. She will also support Moore Barlow’s corporate team in their transactional work.

Moore Barlow is an exciting firm with a growing reputation, and it’s a pleasure to be joining such a strong team. The commercial needs of businesses in their “business as usual” activities can often be complex and are always varied, and the team at Moore Barlow is known for cutting through the jargon to provide a consistent, high-quality service to all its clients.

For me this is really important as we need to help businesses to navigate the challenges they face in a pragmatic and accessible way, as only then do we establish a reputation as trusted advisors. I’m really delighted to be getting started.
