Moore Barlow shortlisted for two Solent Deal Awards 2024

Moore Barlow has been shortlisted for two Solent Deal Awards, capping yet another year of strong dealmaking in 2023, as the climate for M&A activity softens.

As well as being shortlisted in the prestigious Law Firm of the Year category, Jeremy Over has been named as a finalist for Lawyer of the Year. Further underscoring their impressive credentials, Moore Barlow also advised on the sale of Computer and Network Consultants to FluidOne, which has been shortlisted for Small Deal of the Year (under £10m).

Over the year, the corporate team successfully completed 75 deals with a total deal value of more than £350m across a number of sectors including Financial, Digital, Tech, Manufacturing and the Media and Telecoms.

Key deals included advising principal shareholders sale of 100% of the issued share capital of Fresh Relevance Ltd to Dotdigital Group PLC, multiple refinancing transactions of Lloyds Bank and Barclays Bank facilities, acting for Hall & Woodhouse Limited on the sale of 100% of the issued share capital of Rio Tropical Limited, and supporting numerous acquisitions for 4Com as part of its significant growth strategy including the acquisition of Reach Digital Telecoms Ltd.

Jeremy Over, Partner at Moore Barlow says:

We’re absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for two awards. Moore Barlow has one of the largest corporate teams on the South Coast and has for many years been executing multi-million pound transactions for a wide range of entrepreneurial and corporate clients in the Solent region and further afield. 2023 saw a diverse mix of acquisitions, disposals and fundraisings.

Jeremy continued:

“We’re the first port of call for owner-managers, management teams and investors on trade sales, MBOs, investments and acquisitions on deals usually with a value between £1m to £50m and despite deal activity softening during 2023, we are still seeing some good dealmaking opportunities in this market.”

The winners are due to be announced on 21 March 2024 during The Solent Deals Awards ceremony at the Utilita Bowl in Southampton.
