About Harriet

I am a Senior Associate in the Private Wealth department advising generally UK but also foreign domiciled and/or resident individuals on estate planning matters including preparing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney documentation.

I also advise individuals on the creation, administration and winding up of trusts.

In addition, I advise personal representatives (executors and administrators) in the administration of estates (both taxable and non-taxable) including in relation to the application for a grant (such as a grant of probate) and the many issues (tax and otherwise) that can and often do arise during the course of the administration of an estate.

Having practised in Scotland for approximately 6 years post qualification, I have a working knowledge of private wealth work north of the border.

Following my degree in Philosophy at the University of St Andrews, I read Law on the 2-year accelerated law degree course and then the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh. I trained at a medium-sized full-service Legal 500 law firm in Edinburgh, spending the whole of my second year as a trainee in its Private Client department and joined full-time on qualifying in 2008.

I thereafter practised Scots law for about 6 years, during which time I dual qualified in English law, before moving to London in 2014 and have practised English law exclusively since then.

I sing soprano with the London Philharmonic Choir, St Paul’s Cathedral Chorus and Chelsea Opera Group and play the piano.

I am Chairman and a trustee of the EF Bulmer Trust which is a grant awarding charity supporting former employees of HP Bulmer Plc and which works to improve the lives of people in hardship, need or distress across Herefordshire.

In my leisure time I enjoy reading, museums and galleries, arts and crafts, film, theatre, and opera.
