- Complex musculoskeletal injuries
I joined Moore Blatch in 2013 (now Moore Barlow, May 2020) as a paralegal working in the Education and Industrial Disease departments. I moved to the Major Trauma team in May 2016, working closely with Trevor Sterling, Partner for Medical Relations and head of the Major Trauma team qualifying as a Solicitor in 2018.
My role involves supporting the Major Trauma service in major trauma (personal injury) liability investigations, as well as providing health pathway support, general law advice and pursuing insurance compensation claims for major trauma patients/clients.
Our clients have typically suffered a major trauma, this can range from brain injury to routine muscular-skeletal injuries which can be an extremely difficult and distressing time for clients and their families. I focus on supporting rehabilitation with early intervention in order to improve the outcomes, particularly by securing insurance payments and ensuring use of the Rehabilitation Code which facilitates the best possible treatment to assist in their recovery, as well as securing them compensation for injuries suffered and financial losses.
Within the Major Trauma service, I offer advice around general law to clients to ensure I can support them with any issues that may arise and support them along the health pathway. This assists in alleviating anxieties allowing them to focus on their recovery.
I am the Charity Liaison for the Major Trauma team and have been involved in projects such at the Mary Seacole Statue Appeal and fund raising for the Child Brain Injury Trust. I am also a Trustee for Headway South West London.
