About the role

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Solicitor with at least 4 years’ experience working on a wide range of commercial agreements, many of which are technology or IP-related. You will have worked with owner managed businesses, SMEs and larger organisations in relation to drafting/reviewing/negotiating a range of commercial and IT agreements, software development and licensing, Software as a Service (SaaS) and outsourcing agreements. As we work with a lot of Technology clients, a reasonable level of experience of Intellectual property and GDPR/data protection law would be expected. Work is non-contentious in nature and it’s a team of 2 Partners and 3 other fee-earners. The team has consistently increased its turnover and profile in recent years, and we are looking for a confident, outgoing lawyer who likes to get involved with business development to help with future growth as a result of the recent merger. Evidence of a following or clients who are likely to instruct you at Moore Barlow would be advantageous.

Why should you apply?

This is a great opportunity for a confident, experienced, and self-sufficient fee earner to be part of a growing team post-merger and post-Covid. The team has been recognised by the leading directories for its Commercial and Technology expertise.

Whilst likely to be based in Southampton or Guildford, we are offering flexible working in terms of home and office, but we’d need you to be able to travel to our other offices to be with the team/meet clients when required.

Our culture is open, diverse, and inclusive; it’s an environment of belonging, where people can thrive and be the best version of themselves. We strive to nurture our people and offer enjoyable, fulfilling, and sustainable careers. This includes providing the best training, great pay and rewards, and more control over work-life balance. We have introduced a new set of Values which we are seeking to embed into our newly merged culture: these have been formed with consultation across the firm so that they are meaningful and supported in order to make a difference to our people’s and clients lives.

We’ve also won awards! Named as one of the top 200 law firms in the UK in The Times Best Law Firms 2021 list, we have also been widely recognised in Legal 500 UK 2021, the UKs leading guide to law firms, as 8 of our practise areas have been ranked Top Tier.
